Luncheon Highlight

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., June 19, 2011, The Alabama Federation of Republican Women is celebrating the Fourth of July by its completion of a patriotic and inspiring documentary video on the Constitution's unalienable right of liberty. Titled "Give Me Liberty", taken from the quote of Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775, the video explains America's source of Liberty and how The United States Constitutional Republic differs from tyrannical forms of government.
Michele Waller, as chair of the state federation's Caring for America Committee, produced, directed and scripted the Documentary. She stated, "The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution as written made America a 'city on a hill' and a beacon for hope and freedom. For over 200 years, immigrants from all over the world came to America to escape repressive and tyrannical governments. No other forms of government can hold a torch to the liberties and opportunities available to citizens within America's shores."
I was fortunate indeed to meet Michelle at the National Federation of Republican Women Convention, last fall. I was very impressed with her work and we have become friends because of our love of our country. I am thrilled to be able to present this DVD and hope you will enjoy it. It begins with our founders, continues through our history and ends with 3 people who have experienced tyranny first hand. They truly emphasize what happens to people who lose their freedom. These people had somewhere to run to - the last best hope on earth.
Join us for our May Meeting, being held at the Clarion Hotel. We are adjusting the length of the meeting to accommodate this program. Please try to be checked in and in your seats by 11:45. We will start at this time with an abbreviated opening. We will show the DVD promptly at 12:00.
